Tuition, Critiques and Portfolio Preparation
"Very few artists in the world are genius, some are talented and others highly talented, in order for that talent to attain any artistic recognition we have to be ingenious with that talent".
The ‘Paint Shack’ studio is nestled within small woodlands in the idyllic grounds of Mount Edgcumbe Country Park which dominates the beautiful and wild Rame Peninsula, in SE Cornwall.
The Rame peninsula is just across the River Tamar in Cornwall. https://www.visitcornwall.com/places/rame-peninsula
The easiest route to the studio would be to catch a small wooden passenger ferry from Plymouth Stonehouse across the Tamar River to the Cremyll/Mount Edgcumbe jetty. http://www.plymouthboattrips.co.uk/ferries/cremyll-ferry/

Heath Hearn - Painting Course
A rare opportunity to work with Heath Hearn in his studio situated in Cremyll, Mount Edgecumbe, Cornwall.
This course encourages freedom of expression and figurative abstraction
Through practical exercises and constructive support, this inspiring course is designed to build your artistic skills and take your freedom of creativity further. From the fundamentals of sketching and colour, to composition, painting and experimenting with style and expression.
The course begins with a series of drawing exercises within the studio and its surrounding environment. Preliminary sketches will be transferred to primed panels (provided). The painting methods used on the course will occasionally break the rules of traditional painting techniques. Each session will involve over-painting the previous session, leaving individual nodes of expression showing through the over painting, creating a history and forcing the letting go of the previous session.
Included in the fee, each student will be given a 60 x 60 cm primed panel to paint on as well as a selection of oil paints and access to brushes and other painting materials. Please feel free to bring your own brushes and materials. For more details or any questions please email me through the contact page and I will respond promptly.
